The Events Committee organizes two primary WCC-sponsored annual events and coordinates WCC support for and participation in other community events. These neighborhood events integrate the community with local businesses to further foster the woodsy, small town feel that epitomizes Wedgwood.
The WCC’s Annual Outdoor Cinema
The Outdoor Movie Night in 2013 will be on Saturday, August 3rd at the Hunter Farm Gathering Place (7744 35th Ave NE). We changed locations from the Thornton Creek playground to the Hunter Farm Gathering Place in 2012. While the 1st year at the Hunter Farm site seemed to work pretty well, there were a few things that we hope to do better this year. Festivities will kick off at 7PM. The movie is yet to be determined.

The WCC’s Wedgwood Business Trick-or-Treat
Trick or treaters enter the Wedgwood Barber Shop
Each year, the WCC coordinates a trick-or-treat in the Wedgwood Business District based on our local public school schedule with the participation of our 35th Ave NE business community. We print up the flyers, get out the word, and provide crossing guards for the intersections at 75th and 85th to provide a safe and fun environment for kids to trick-or-treat in the full glory of their costumes throughout our neighborhood. It’s a tradition that goes way back! The 2012 Wedgwood Business Trick-or-Treat was on Wednesday, October 31st (Halloween!) this year.
The Wedgwood Art Festival
The Wedgwood arts community comes together each year to put on the annual Wedgwood Art Festival at the Hunter Tree Farm lot at 35th Ave NE & NE 80th Street. The Wedgwood Art Festival is not formally affiliated with the Wedgwood Community Council, but it is a fantastic event for our community and we support the artists who work so hard to put it together.
